Infrared Sauna Update

Oct 16, 2020

We are excited to announce the reopening of our infrared sauna on Oct 20, 2020.

We know it has been a longer wait than we anticipated when we closed down in March, but we appreciate how patient and understanding you have been as we worked to reopen safely.

Thank you.

At this time, we want to go over some of the changes we have made as well as provide you with information regarding what you can expect when at your next infrared sauna session.

As with all areas of our centre, we have enhanced our cleaning of the infrared sauna. This includes, running heat cleaning cycles based on WHO recommendations, cleaning interior and exterior surfaces of the sauna and adjoining room, as well as further limiting surface contact with the addition of more towels.

The increases to our cleaning protocol unfortunately means that the time required for each session has almost doubled. This on top of our occupancy requirements, has meant that we have had to limit our sauna to 50% occupancy at this time. We know that this will present its own challenges with booking but have tried to find a way to maximize how we utilize the sauna, through set scheduling and limits to pre booking appointments. We have also discontinued all promotional sales of the sauna through 3rd parties so that we can accommodate those that currently hold packages.

Scheduling appointments

We have worked to create a schedule that optimizes the use of the infrared sauna. We have done this by setting specific start times for booking the sauna and pre planning the time required for cleaning.

Secondly, we have implemented a limit on pre booking appointments so that we can try to allow more clients the opportunity to book. Currently this will mean that clients are able to pre book 1 session a week Monday – Friday or 1 session every 2 weeks when booking Saturday’s. Lastly, we will be limiting clients to 3 pre booked appointments at any given time.

We will continue to reevaluate this and will loosen booking limits if we feel the schedule can accommodate it. However in the meantime, if you are looking to book in for more than one session a week you can do so if it is booked day-of. This way we still allow others the opportunity to book, but if the sauna is open, we of course would love to have you in. It is also important to note that we do have a cancellation list and encourage you to ask to be placed on it so we can call with day-of openings If you are looking to get in.

Prescreening & Cancellations

We will be in contact with you 1-2 days prior to your appointment to complete a pre screening check list.

We also ask that you cancel if you have any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 including:

  • fever, fatigue, dry cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat or a loss of smell or taste, please call us to cancel.

  • If you have traveled internationally within 14 days, or

  • If you have had close contact with an individual who has a confirmed or presumptive diagnosis of COVID-19 please call to cancel.

We also just want to take a moment and touch on no -shows. In the past we have been very accommodating of missed appointments, however at this time it is even more important that we utilize our time to the best of our ability. This means that missed appointments will result in a loss of a package session.

With this being said, if you have to cancel due illness or any part of our screening protocol you will not be penalized, as long as you contact us to cancel the appointment.

Masks are mandatory in all areas of 3 Leaf. However, you are able to remove your mask once alone in the infrared sauna.

**Your mask must be replaced as soon as your session is over, before exiting the room.

Additional Changes –

We have made some changes to the room and what we offer during your session. This includes:

  • Wipeable furniture

  • We are no longer offering water; we strongly recommend you bring your own water with you as it is important to stay hydrated while in the sauna

  • We have removed all reading material and suggest you bring a book or magazine with you.

  • The sauna is only available for single occupancy at this time.

General guidelines –

Prior to your first appointment please review our general COVID protocols for arrival times, check in protocol and additional information regarding your visit at 3 Leaf.

Lastly, we would just like to say that we understand that this is going to be an adjustment. We know that at times the schedule will be challenging and feel limiting. We truly apologize for the inconvenience, but this is the only way to move forward at this time.

We would also like to again say that we appreciate how patient and understanding you have been. This has been a challenging time, but you have all made it so much easier.

We can’t wait to have you back!!!!!

Infrared Sauna Update

June 10th, 2020

We would like to clarify the situation with our infrared sauna, after receiving new information.

Although we had tried to contact Alberta Biz Connect for specific details, we hadn’t received an answer and felt with the announcement of reopening we had to make a decision that felt right for us.

Following our newsletter announcement last night, we had a client point us to information that showed saunas (both wet & dry) fell under the Stage 3 relaunch. We are glad to see that the sauna has been mentioned and hope that when Stage 3 is announced, we will also be provided guidance on how to safely open our infrared sauna.

We apologize for not having all the information at the time of our sauna update. Although it does not change what is happening, we felt it was important to continue to share with you the most accurate information that we have.

We will provide another update after Stage 3 is announced and we have seen specific guidance.

Thank you for understanding, and as always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask!
