ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, pre-sterilized, single-use stainless steel needles into specific points on the body along interconnected pathways known as meridians.

By stimulating these points, acupuncture helps regulate a wide range of physiological functions and activates the body’s natural ability to heal. It supports the nervous system, improves circulation, and promotes overall balance within the body. This encourages the body to shift out of stress mode and into a state of repair and restoration.

Used for centuries, acupuncture is a safe, natural, and drug-free approach to health and wellness.

 Benefits of Acupuncture may include:

  • Reduced stress, anxiety, and nervous system tension

  • Relief from pain (musculoskeletal, headaches, chronic conditions)

  • Improved digestion and gut health

  • Hormonal balance and menstrual support

  • Enhanced fertility and reproductive health

  • Better sleep and energy levels

  • Support for immune function

  • Emotional regulation and mental clarity

Each treatment is personalized—looking at the body as an interconnected system rather than isolated symptoms. The goal is not just symptom relief, but creating lasting balance and resilience within the body by tapping into the root cause.

FAQ

What does acupuncture feel like?

Most people experience little to no pain. Sensations may include a slight pinch, warmth, tingling, or a dull ache—often followed by deep relaxation.

What should I do before my appointment?

  • Eat a light meal or snack (don’t come on an empty stomach)

  • Stay hydrated

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing

  • Bring any relevant health information or questions

What should I expect during a session?

Your first visit includes a thorough intake where we discuss your health history, lifestyle, goals, and treatment. Needles are then placed and you’ll rest for ~15–20 minutes in a calm, quiet space. Additional modalities such as cupping, gua sha, tui na massage, and ear seeding may also be employed.

How will I feel after?

You may feel deeply relaxed, energized, or both. Some people notice immediate changes, while others experience gradual shifts over time.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your goals and how long your condition has been present. Acute concerns may resolve quickly, while chronic patterns benefit from a series of treatments.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes—when performed by a licensed practitioner using sterile, single-use needles, acupuncture is very safe with minimal side effects.

Other things to note:

  • TCM does not often provide an instant cure. The length of the treatment depends on the severity of the condition. In some cases, symptoms may temporarily worsen before they improve.

  • If cupping or gua sha treatment are used, there will be marks left on the skin that look similar to bruising and may last for up to one week after treatment.

  • Acupuncture is a safe method of treatment, but may have some side effects, including but not limited to: slight pain, numbness or tingling, dizziness, fainting or nausea, minor swelling, bleeding, or bruising

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping therapy is designed to promote circulation, release tension, and support the body’s natural healing process. Using gentle suction created by specialized cups, this therapy helps relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and detoxify the body by improving blood and energy flow. Cupping is sure to leave you feeling lighter, more relaxed, and deeply revitalized, and makes an incredible addition to one's personal care routine.
